12 Jun Your new obsession is here!
There’s something undeniably indulgent about texture — the kind that invites touch, transforms a space, and elevates even the simplest handmade piece into something extraordinary. Elle Furever, our newest luxury yarn introduced to bring softness, sophistication, and statement-making texture to your crafting repertoire.
the Details Behind the Yarn
This ultra-soft micro-polyester, premium faux fur yarn captures the glamour of high-fashion textures with the comfort and versatility makers love. Plush yet lightweight, dramatic yet irresistibly wearable, this yarn was created for those who appreciate both tactile beauty and contemporary design.
Unlike traditional yarns, where you can clearly see every stitch, Furever creates a soft, furry surface that hides the stitches beneath. As a result, it is a very fur-giving yarn in the sense that it can hide small imperfections, making it a great choice for both beginners and experienced crafters alike. The result is projects that look fuller, fluffier, and incredibly tactile from the moment they’re finished!
WHY FUREVER?
Over the last few years, fluffy and faux fur yarns have become increasingly popular among crocheters and knitters worldwide, especially for plush toys, Amigurumi, blankets, and textured accessories.
While many yarns focus purely on softness, we wanted to introduce a faux fur yarn that combines softness, texture, and versatility across a wider range of knitting and crochet projects.
For many South African crafters, finding a quality faux fur yarn hasn’t always been easy. That’s why we – along with our long-term international manufacturing partner – set out to source a yarn that delivers the softness, texture, and plush finish that crafters around the world have come to love, while making it accessible for our South African market.
Our goal was simple: To create projects that look soft before you even touch them.

Design Inspiration
Whether you’re crafting a statement throw, a chic scarf, or adding texture to fashion-forward garments and décor pieces, Furever offers an unmistakably refined finish — one that feels both playful and polished.
Because the yarn naturally creates texture, you don’t need complicated stitch patterns to achieve a striking result. We recommend using simple knitting and crochet techniques as they will work best to make the faux fur to take centre stage.

Tips for working with furever
Elle Furever creates beautifully luxurious projects, but it behaves a little differently from traditional yarns. Here are some helpful tips to ensure a smooth and enjoyable crafting experience:
1. Feel for Your Stitches
The fluffy pile can make stitches difficult to see, so rely on your fingertips as much as your eyes. Gently feel the stitch placement before inserting your hook or needle.
2. Use Stitch Markers Generously
Place stitch markers at the beginning and end of rows, pattern repeats, or shaping points. They can save a lot of counting and guesswork later on.
3. Keep Tension Relaxed
Working too tightly can make stitches harder to identify and reduce the plush drape that makes Furever so beautiful. A relaxed, even tension produces the best results.
4. Choose Simple Stitch Patterns
Furever shines because of its texture. Simple stitches such as stocking stitch, garter stitch, (single crochet, or half-double crochet often create the most elegant finished look.
5. Work in Good Lighting
Bright lighting makes it easier to distinguish stitches and spot any mistakes before they become difficult to correct.
6. Count Frequently and Check Your Progress Often
Since individual stitches can disappear beneath the fur, count stitches regularly rather than waiting until the end of a row. Lay your project flat every few rows to ensure shaping, sizing, and stitch counts remain accurate.
7. Consider a Larger Hook or Needle
Many crafters find that sizing up slightly creates a softer fabric and makes working with the yarn easier.
8. Use needle tip stoppers
If you have a lot of stitches on your needle, more so with circular needles, it is best to use a stopper at one end to prevent the stitches from sliding off. A stopper also helps to hold stitches in place when taking a break.
9. Frog Carefully
If you have dropped a stitch or need to undo stitches, firstly, don’t panic. Lay your work on a flat, clean surface and pull the yarn back slowly and gently, watching where the yarn pulls out from the loop. Pick each stitch up as you go along, pulling out multiple stitches could cause the yarn to slide and slip as you pick up stitches.
10. Let the Texture Do the Talking
Intricate cables, lace, and highly textured stitches will become hidden beneath the fur. Simple constructions allow the yarn’s luxurious texture to take centre stage.
11. Pair with a Smooth Yarn for Learning
If you’re new to faux fur yarn, holding it together with a smooth contrasting yarn can make stitches easier to identify while you gain confidence.
12. Brush and Fluff When Finished
A gentle brush or shake can help restore the yarn’s full plush appearance and bring your finished project to life.
