July ’18 stitch of the month: Linen Stitch

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This stitch pattern creates a dense textured fabric so it is advised to use needles one size larger than the yarn recommends.

k = knit; p = purl; pw = purlwise; rep = repeat; RSF = right side facing; sl = slip; st(s) = stitch(es); yb = yarn back; yfd = yarn forward

Cast on an uneven number of stitches:

1st row: RSF, using colour A, k1, *yfd, sl1pw, yb, k1, rep from * to end.

2nd row: Using colour A, p2, *yb, sl1pw, yfd, p1, rep from * to last st, p1.

3rd row: Using colour B, as 1st row.

4th row: Using colour B, as 2nd row.

Rep these 4 rows.
