November ’17 stitch of the month: Little Flames

YOU WILL NEED:

One pair recommended needle size for the yarn you are using

ABBREVIATIONS:

k = knit; p = purl; rep = repeat; RSF = right side facing; SKPO = slip one, knit one, pass slipped stitch over; SKTPO = slip one, knit two together, pass slipped stitch over; sts = stitch(es); tog = together

NOTE:

This stitch pattern knits to a tension of 16 sts and 26 rows = 10 cm using 4 mm needles and DK yarn.

When casting off do so on 7th or 13th row, omitting the increases.

Multiple of 4sts + 1 st:

1st row: RSF, p1, * (k1, p1, k1, p1, k1) in next stitch, p3, rep from * to end.
2nd row: (K3, p5) to last st, k1.
3rd row: P1, (k5, p3) to end.
4th row: As 2nd row.
5th row: P1, (SKPO, k1, k2tog, p3) to end.
6th row: (K3, p3) to last st, k1.
7th row: P1, *SKTPO, p1, (k1, p1, k1, p1, k1) in next stitch, p1, rep from * to end.
8th row: K1, (p5, k3) to end.
9th row: (P3, k5) to last st, p1.
10th row: As 8th row.
11th row: (P3, SKPO, k1, k2tog) to last st, p1.
12th row: K1, (p3, k3) to end.
13th row: P1, *(k1, p1, k1, p1, k1) in next stitch, p1, SKTPO, p1, rep from * to end.
Rep 2nd to 13th row.
