ABBREVIATIONS:
k = knit; p = purl; rep = repeat; RSF = right side facing; SKPO = slip one, knit one, pass slipped stitch over; st(s) = stitch(es); tog = together; wyif = with yarn in front; yrn = yarn around needle

Multiple of 6sts + 2sts:

1st row: RSF, p1, (p1, wyif SKPO, k2tog, yrn, p1) to last st, p1.

2nd row: K1, (k1, p4, k1) to last st, k1.

3rd row: P1, (p1, k2tog, yrn, SKPO, p1) to last st, p1.

4th row: K1, (k1, p1, p into 1st loop, k into 2nd loop, p1, k1) to last st, k1.

5th row: P1, (k2tog, yrn, p2, wyif SKPO) to last st, p1.

6th row: K1, (p2, k2, p2) to last st, k1.

7th row: P1, wyif (SKPO, p2, k2tog, yrn) to last 7sts, SKPO, p2, k2tog, yrn, p1.

8th row: K2, (p1, k2, p1, p into 1st loop, k into 2nd loop) to last 6sts, p1, k2, p2, k1.
